What’s Up With My Discharge?

Dear @allbodies,

Is it normal to have stringy discharge throughout my entire cycle?

Sincerely, #whatismydischargetellingme

Dear #whatismydischargetellingme

It’s great that you’re asking! Normal vaginal discharge (or cervical mucus) changes throughout the month and from month to month. Our vaginas are complex environments that are always doing their best to stay in balance. Sometimes discharge can reflect that, as well as reflecting the particular time in your cycle. The main idea is this: if you aren’t experiencing any unpleasant symptoms (itching, burning, fishy smell) then you can trust your discharge is just doing its thing – being a self-cleaning oven for you! If you are experiencing unpleasant symptoms, go ahead and contact your midwife or doctor for a visit.

Sincerely,
