Accessibility Statement for Allbodies
We want everyone who visits the allbodies website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding. We here at allbodies are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
What are we doing?
To help us make the allbodies website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level A as the target for the All Bodies website. In addition, we are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level A. Partially conformant means that some parts of our content do not fully conform to the accessibility standards. We’ve outlined those areas under the heading “How are we doing?”.
We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:
How are we doing?
We’re working hard to achieve our goal of Level A accessibility, but we realize there are some areas that still need improving. We’ve had our site audited by an external contractor, and we’re prioritizing the issues found by which will have the highest impact for the most users. The following information explains what we’re doing to make that happen.
1.1.1: Non-text Content
As we continue to move our old content over to our new site, we will be reviewing all non-text content on a case-by-case basis to ensure that items have the proper text alternative.
1.2.1: Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded)
As a small company, our resources are limited. However, we recognize the importance of having text alternatives to time-based media. We are working to make all of our content accessible. In the meantime, if you come across something on our site that does not accommodate your needs, please reach out to use directly at email@example.com and we will prioritize that content for you.
1.2.3: Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded)
We are reviewing our video content and will be making captioning and transcripts available as they are completed. Should you need an audio description or media alternative before it is available, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work to get it to you as soon as possible.
While our site has been keyboard tested, we know there might be some areas that are harder to navigate than others. We appreciate any and all feedback you have to improve the keyboard functionality and accessibility of our site.
A note on functionality
Our website is built using WordPress, a content management system. As such, we do rely on third-party plugins for some of our functionality. While these plugins are not maintained by us, if you flag an accessibility concern to us that stems from one of these plugins, we will reach out to the appropriate maintainer and make them aware of the ADA non-compliance issue.
Let us know what you think
